Now, let’s dive into this week’s updates on the latest in travel innovation, trends, and startups.

Prague puts a stop to bar hopping. To cut down on the loud and rowdy nights, Prague has banned organized pub crawls between 10PM and 6AM. The city hopes this will attract a more respectful and responsible type of visitor, improving safety and quality of life for residents. Regular groups can still enjoy the city's nightlife, just without the guided bar-hopping.

AI for flight decks. Beacon AI has secured $15 million in Series A funding to enhance flight deck efficiency. The funding will accelerate the development of their AI-powered pilot assistant and flight management system, Lighthouse. Founded in 2021, Beacon AI aims to help pilots operate more safely and efficiently, addressing a growing need in the aviation industry.

Expanding high-end getaways. Cannes-based luxury vacation rental company A.M.A. Selections just closed a €1.5 million seed funding round, and they’re ready to take things to the next level. With the fresh capital, the company plans to expand its portfolio of high-end holiday homes and upgrade the personalized services it offers, like private chefs and yacht charters, aiming to deliver even more seamless luxury travel experiences.

Fixing flight chaos, one delay at a time. Iceland-based AviLabs just raised €8 million to fuel the global expansion of its airline disruption management technology, Plan3. With airlines losing billions due to delays and cancellations, AviLabs is stepping in to offer a more efficient solution for managing disruptions. The funding will also support further innovations to improve the passenger experience and boost operational efficiency.

Smarter tickets in Southeast Asia. Singapore-based ticketing solution GlobalTix, has closed a $5 million Series B funding round. This new capital will help GlobalTix expand across the APAC region and introduce AI solutions to optimize pricing and enhance traveler experiences. With over 150,000 experiences and 12 million tickets issued annually, GlobalTix is the largest tour aggregator in Southeast Asia.
